Suitability

Is this the trip for you?

  • This fast-paced holiday has been graded as full-on. Expect daily journeys and a busy schedule (with a couple of afternoons set aside to relax along the way).
  • You'll spend a lot of time on your feet, exploring bustling cities and ancient ruins. There'll be some uneven terrain - particularly at the archaeological sites. We recommend a good level of fitness and comfortable shoes.
  • During the summer months, it can be extremely hot in Mexico. If you're travelling between May and August, be prepared for tropical temperatures - pack light layers, use sun protection and stay hydrated.
  • Vegetarian and vegan diets can be catered for - please advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
  • Playa del Carmen is a lively resort town with a vibrant nightlife scene. Our hotel is centrally located and you might experience some noise from nearby bars and entertainment venues, particularly in the evenings. It's a good idea to pack some earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
  • The Caribbean coastline can be affected by seasonal sargassum (seaweed), particularly between spring and autumn. Conditions vary throughout the year and while beaches are regularly maintained, seaweed might affect the appearance and accessibility of some beach areas around Playa del Carmen.
