Air Passenger Duty for families
There are two bands on air passenger duty, depending on the length of the flight.
Band A where the distance from London to the destination country’s capital city is between 0 to 2,000 miles
Band B where the distance from London to the destination country’s capital city is over 2,000 miles

As of April 2018, families with under 16 year olds will save £78 per child on long-haul flights (2,000 miles or more) where the seat pitch is under 40 inches and £13 per child on short-haul flights.
This discount is built into the trip cost for children under 12, for children aged 12 to 15, a discount will be applied to your booking, if booking flights with Explore.
Where the seat pitch is over 40 inches air passenger duty is payable for both adults and children.
